Full Bio

Mónica Taher is a serial technology entrepreneur. She’s an Accelerate with Google Academy alumna. She’s a former executive at Getty Images Latin America where she supervised the penetration of GILA’s digital assets in the US Hispanic and Latin American markets. She is currently a Managing Partner at Printing Ladies, a company that specializes on offering an array of textile services including: digital rotary printing, sublimation large format printing for cut pieces or full garments, silk screen printing and embroidery, banners, trade show displays and custom products such as micro fiber cloth, wine bags, shoe bags and more.

Mónica has served in various communications, marketing and business development capacities, working with Fortune 500 corporations such as IBM and international companies such as Televisa (Mexico), Univision Networks, Globo (Brazil), and the Digicel Group. In 2006, IBM tapped her to conduct LGBT business intelligence research in Latin American countries including Argentina, Mexico and Brazil for the penetration of IBM’s LGBT affinity group in those markets.

While serving as Director of Spanish-Language Media at GLAAD, Mónica became a national advocate and spokesperson for the representation of the LGBT community in Spanish-language media. Her efforts brought about measures that caused giants such as Univision, Telemundo, CNN en Español and Impremedia to more accurately portray LGBT people and their lives in television and film.

Mónica is proficient in English, Spanish and Portuguese and is a thought leader in the world of entrepreneurship. She was selected by Google to be part of the Accelerate with Google Academy. Mónica is also the CEO & Founder of ClipYap, a soon-to-be launched app that allows users to have lively conversations using movie and TV shows’ lines and actions in the form of motioned GIFs seamlessly put together.
